PRP Treatment for Hair Loss

Platelet-Rich Plasma therapy harnessing your body's own growth factors to stimulate natural hair regeneration at Clinique Internationale.

Overview

What is PRP Therapy for Hair?

PRP stands for Platelet-Rich Plasma. Platelets also known as megakaryocytes are present in blood and contain granules that are a rich source of growth factors and other bio-molecules important for tissue repair and regeneration.

Platelet releases a broad range of growth factors including PDGF, VEGF, EGF, FGF, TGF and many more. These factors are known to regulate cell migration, proliferation and deposition of new extracellular matrix all of which contribute to tissue regeneration and thus to hair growth.

In PRP therapy, we usually withdraw 18–20 ml of blood from the patient's vein, which is then subjected to centrifugation in a centrifuge machine. The PRP harvested through this centrifugation process is injected into the patient's scalp for hair growth and regeneration.

The Science

How PRP Stimulates Hair Growth

PRP works by concentrating the body's own powerful growth factors and delivering them directly into the scalp, where they reactivate dormant follicles and accelerate the natural hair growth cycle.

Key Growth Factors in PRP

PDGF
Platelet-Derived Growth Factor

Stimulates cell growth and proliferation, promotes new blood vessel formation, and accelerates regeneration of hair follicle tissue.

VEGF
Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor

Promotes angiogenesis the formation of new blood vessels improving blood supply to hair follicles and enhancing nutrient delivery.

EGF
Epidermal Growth Factor

Accelerates cell growth and differentiation, supporting rapid regeneration of the scalp's epidermal layer and follicle structures.

FGF
Fibroblast Growth Factor

Stimulates fibroblast activity and collagen production, strengthening the scalp microenvironment that supports healthy follicle function.

TGF
Transforming Growth Factor

Regulates cell proliferation and plays a key role in tissue remodelling, helping restore the natural extracellular matrix around hair follicles.

Mechanisms of Action

01
Cell Migration

Growth factors guide progenitor cells to the site of treatment, concentrating regenerative activity precisely where hair thinning is occurring.

02
Cell Proliferation

PRP triggers rapid multiplication of follicular cells, reactivating miniaturised follicles and extending the active growth (anagen) phase of the hair cycle.

03
Extracellular Matrix

New matrix deposition rebuilds the structural scaffold around follicles, providing a healthier environment for sustained hair growth.

04
Tissue Regeneration

The combined action of all growth factors results in genuine tissue regeneration not just temporary stimulation leading to denser, stronger hair.

Pricing

PRP Treatment Cost in India

PRP therapy at Clinique Internationale is priced based on the number of sessions required and the extent of hair loss. A single session typically ranges from ₹3,000 to ₹8,000, with most patients recommended a course of 3–6 sessions for optimal results.

Multiple session packages are available at discounted rates. Consult with our specialists for a personalised treatment plan and accurate pricing.

The Procedure

How is PRP Therapy Performed?

PRP therapy is a straightforward, in-clinic procedure that takes approximately 45–60 minutes per session. It is minimally invasive and requires no downtime.

PRP centrifuge and scalp injection procedure
01
Blood Withdrawal

18–20 ml of blood is carefully withdrawn from the patient's vein typically from the arm using a sterile syringe, in the same way as a standard blood test.

02
Centrifugation

The collected blood is placed in a centrifuge machine and spun at high speed, separating the blood into its components and concentrating the platelet-rich plasma layer.

03
PRP Extraction

The concentrated PRP layer rich in platelets, growth factors, and bio-molecules is carefully extracted from the centrifuge tube using a specialised syringe.

04
Scalp Preparation

The patient's scalp is cleansed and a topical numbing cream or local anaesthesia is applied to the treatment areas to ensure a comfortable, pain-minimal experience.

05
PRP Injection

The concentrated PRP is injected precisely into the scalp across areas of thinning or hair loss using fine needles, delivering growth factors directly to the hair follicles.

06
Post-Treatment Care

Patients receive aftercare instructions including avoiding washing the scalp for 24 hours, refraining from strenuous activity, and attending follow-up sessions as recommended.

Why Choose PRP

Benefits of PRP Therapy for Hair Loss

PRP hair regrowth result
01
Non-Surgical

PRP is a completely non-surgical, minimally invasive therapy no cuts, no stitches, and no general anaesthesia required.

02
Uses Your Own Blood

Since PRP is derived from the patient's own blood, there is zero risk of allergic reaction, rejection, or disease transmission.

03
Stimulates Natural Growth

PRP reactivates dormant follicles and extends the growth phase of existing hair, resulting in denser, stronger, and more natural hair.

04
Minimal Downtime

Patients return to normal activities within 24 hours. There is no recovery period, making it ideal for busy individuals.

05
Complements Surgery

PRP is frequently used before and after hair transplant surgery to improve graft survival rates and accelerate overall healing.
